FAQ

Will I see any planets and other galaxies?

Our state of the art telescopes provide excellent views of deep space objects including other galaxies. Viewing of objects depends on the viewing location and the time they rise and set on the night. Viewings during winter in Australia will likely include planets, as Venus, Jupiter and Saturn are present early at night.

Are there minimum age requirements or conditions to attend the event?

Viewing through our observatory size 22” telescope may require climbing up a 3-step platform ladder. Attendees must be fit to do so and be a least 1.4 meters tall.

Is this experience suitable for children?

We welcome children 8 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

What is your refund policy?

No refunds for no shows or cancellations. If the event is cancelled due to bad weather an alternative viewing date will be offered in the first instance. Should the future date not be suitable you will be able to transfer your ticket or request a refund.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable if I can’t make it?

If you are unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, you will be able to transfer your ticket. Please get in touch as early as possible to provide contact details of the person attending on your behalf.

Can I book and pay on the spot?

Due to limited numbers, we recommend pre-booking our astronomy shows. However, if there is availability on the night you can make payment up to 15 minutes prior to the commencement of the show. The Mobile Observatory uses Square Reader secure processing system and can accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express or cash.
